Linkages and colloborations

          ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture has established good linkages with reserach Institutes in the UT of J & K, national Institutes, State Agricultural Universities, extension agencies, State Development Departments, IITs and industries for research and development and transfer of technologies.  Institute has inter-institutional collaboration with ICAR-IGFRI, ICAR-NBPGR, SKUAST-K, SKUAST-J, GPUAST-Pantnagar, Dr YSPUH&F-Solan, University of Kashmir, University of Jammu, IIT Roorkee, ICAR-IARI New Delhi, ICAR-IIVR Varanasi, ICAR-IIHR Bangalore, ICAR-NRC on O&G, ICAR-NRC on MAP, ICAR-NRC on seed spices, ICAR-NRC on grapes, ICAR-CISH Lucknow, ICAR-VPKAS Almora, TNAU Coimbatore and ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana.  In addition the institute is having collaboration with BAIF for evaluation and promotion of columnar apple 9mini apple) in India. For promotion of walnut in Uttarakhand, Institute is working in collaboration with Uttarakhand Forest Resource Managament Project and Department of Horticulture, Uttarakhand. For establishment of walnut mother blocks in UT of J &K, Institute is working in collaboration with department of Horticulture, Kashmir and SKUAST-K. Five scientists of the institute have been recognized as the faculty of five universities for post-graduate teaching and research.

 

The technologies, new varieties and hybrids being developed and contemplated to be developed are required to be disseminated and popularized to the end users in J&K, HP, Uttarakhand and NEH region through extension agencies as well as through electronic/print media including internet. To achieve the objective, the CITH has initiated active collaboration with State Departments for dissemination of technologies and supply of quality planting material, budwood and seeds of elite identified varieties.  The institute is also providing trainings to State Extension Officers on advance technologies and thus contributing to HRD. It has established strong linkage with the State Department of Horticulture of J&K, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
